Nothing new in Railway Budget 2015: Ex-railway minister Pawan Bansal
CHANDIGARH: Former railway minister Pawan Kumar Bansal today said that there was nothing new in the NDA government's railway budget for 2015-16 and it was a repetition of what the UPA government presented in the past.

"This budget doesn't enthuse anyone, the expectations were very high. They (BJP govt) haven't live up to those expectations," Bansal said here.

"There is nothing new in this. It is a repetition of many other things," he said.

"There are some areas like safety, cleanliness, where he (Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu) intends to take things forward, which is good."

The Congress leader said that no deadline was announced for completing the dedicated freight corridor project.

"No deadline was announced for completing/commissioning the locomotive engine factories at Madhoda and Madhepura in Bihar, which have already been delayed," he said.

He, however, lauded Prabhu's initiative of installing CCTV camera in trains in view of women security.

"You have to take it very seriously. When he talks about installing CCTV cameras and may be that is a good step," Bansal said.
