Noted cartoonist Sudhir Tailang passes away

Tailang's daughter Aditi told IANS that he breathed his last at 12.30 p.m. He would be cremated at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Lodhi road crematorium.

NEW DELHI: Eminent cartoonist Sudhir Tailang, who chronicled contemporary Indian politics with wit and humour, died on Saturday after battling brain cancer for over two years. Tailang, who would have turned 56 on February 26 is survived by his daughter and wife.

The cartoonist, who had worked in a number of newspapers including Hindustan Times, The Times of India and The Indian Express, was admitted to Medanta Medicity Hospital in December but was brought home around a month ago. Tailang was awarded the Padma Shri in 2004.
