Not perturbed by exit polls, says Ajay Singh
BHOPAL: Leader of Opposition in Madhya Pradesh Assembly, Ajay Singh today asserted that he was not dismayed by the exit polls predicting a Congress defeat in the state Assembly elections.

"Why should I be perturbed?" said Ajay, during an interaction with the media persons when asked if he was dismayed by the exit poll results.

If what the exit polls had said was true, then why have the BJP leaders in Madhya Pradesh withdrawn into a shell for the last six or seven days? the Congress leader asked.

"The exit polls are not doing any talking but it is the money behind them which is making all noises," he quipped.

The BJP's position in Madhya Pradesh right now is exactly similar to that of the Congress before the 2003 Assembly elections, he pointed out.

"I feel that the 2013 Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh would be a replay of those held in 2003," he said.

During those elections, 26 ministers from the Congress had lost, Ajay said and claimed that this time between 18 to 20 ministers of BJP are bound to lose (the Assembly election).

The Congress had in 2008 won 71 seats and if it could add only one seat from each district to its tally, the party would come to power, he said.

According to his assessment, the Congress, which had got only two seats from the Vindhya region in 2008, will get at least 15 seats from there this time.

Similarly, the party's tally would rise in other regions of the state, he claimed.
