Not mentioned Raman Singh's name in mining allotment: Ajay Singh

BHOPAL: Leader of Opposition in Madhya Pradesh Assembly Ajay Singh today clarified that he had not mentioned Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh's name in connection with the allotment of a mining lease in Sidhi district of the state.

Congress had yesterday that NAD Private Limited, which allegedly had connections with Raman Singh, was allotted a mine in Sidhi district. However, Raman Singh had denied the allegation. "My relatives have no direct and indirect relations with the mines in question," he told PTI.

Ajay Singh today said that he had not mentioned Singh's name in this connection. "I have not mentioned the name of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister on the issue. But I had definitely said that mines were allotted in haste by the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh for persons with Chhattisgarh connection," he told PTI.

He was answering a query about media reports, which mentioned that he had levelled allegations against Raman Singh on the issue.

He, however, said that since the allotment was done in haste and suspected that it might be connected with some highly-placed persons in Chhattisgarh.
