Not interested in President's post: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat
Pouring cold water on speculations linking his name to the President's post, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Wednesday rubbished the news item.

"Think of such news as entertainment and leave it at that," Bhagwat said.

With President Pranab Mukherjee's term drawing to a close, there were reports that Bhagwat was one of the contenders and Shiv Sena, through its mouthpiece Saamna, also threw its weight behind Bhagwat.

Bhagwat's refusal means that the NDA government has to look for alternative candidates for the post of President.

Mukherjee, who took over as President on 25 July 2012, had to contest against NDA government's PA Sangma and prevailed with 713,763 votes while Sangma got 315,987 votes.

Pranab Mukherjee's term will end on July 24.
