NEW DELHI: HDFC chairman Deepak Parekh has trashed all reports suggesting that he would take over as the country’s finance minister in Narendra Modi’s Cabinet, saying there is no truth whatsoever. “There is not an iota of truth.

Don’t believe in rumours. There is no truth whatsoever,” Parekh said. The technocrat, however, hinted that he was ready to take up any job that would be assigned to him by the new government at the Centre. “I will always do whatever the government asks me,” he added. Parekh’s name is also being speculated for the post as he has headed many expert advisory committees.
