Noor Hossain repatriated to Bangladesh

The day Anup Chetia was extradited, government of India initiated repatriation process. Hossain has been handed over to BGB by BSF at Petrapole ICP.

Noor Hossain repatriated to Bangladesh
KOLKATA: Bangladeshi absconder Noor Hossain has been repatriated to Bangladesh at the wee hours today. Hossain was released by Dum Dum jail authorities late at night yesterday and handed over to BSF. Bangladesh government wanted Noor Hossain in exchange of Anup Chetia.

The day Anup Chetia was extradited, government of India initiated repatriation process. Hossain has been handed over to BGB by BSF at Petrapole ICP. Hossain is a member of Awami League in Bangladesh and a councillor of Narayanganj. He is accused in seven murder cases including the murder of his party colleague.

Hossain sneaked into the country in 2014 and started residing in a flat that he took on rent in the northen suburb of the city. He was arrested by the special task force (STF) and slapped charges under foreigner's act.

After Bangladesh police contacted its counterpart in the country, in connection with Hossain's arrest, a team of police officials interrogated him about the crime he committed in Bangladesh. he was interrogated several times in Dum Dum correctional home.
