Non-bailable warrant against TDP legislator Appala Naidu

VIZIANAGRAM: A local court has issued a non-bailable warrant against MLA K Appala Naidu of the ruling TDP in a cheque bouncing case filed by a businessman.

The warrant was issued by magistrate N Srilaxmi directing police to execute it against the Gajapathinagaram MLA before January 9.

It was issued after the legislator ignored earlier notices summoning him to the court.

The TDP MLA had taken a loan Rs 20 lakh from businessman Purushotham Jain who deals in clothes in 2013 and he had issued a cheque towards payment, but it was dishonoured due to insufficient funds.

The businessman has filed a complaint under the Negotiable Instruments Act.
