MP govt has given permission to the Special Police Establishment (SPE) of the Lokayukta for prosecuting suspended health director Dr Ashok Sharma.

BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh government has given permission to the Special Police Establishment (SPE) of the Lokayukta for prosecuting suspended health director Dr Ashok Sharma under the Prevention of Corruption Act.


In his controversial stint as the Director Health, Sharma had faced a number of corruption charges.

He will be prosecuted in a case related to purchase of anti-TB drugs in violation of norms, with an apparent intention to benefit a company.

Lokayukta sources said that they were yet to receive the permission but added that a chargesheet would be filed in the case as soon as they receive permission documents.
