Delhi LoP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri today claimed that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal didn't lose any weight but in fact gained 1 kg in Tihar Jail. Citing official medical health chart, the BJP leader said that Kejriwal didn't lose 4.5 kg in jail and his vital stats like BP and Sugar are also normal.

"Allegations have been made that the weight of CM (Arvind Kejriwal) has come down by 4.5 kg, but the official information states that his weight has gone up by 1 kg. Jail rules are same for everyone, whether a common man or a VIP. Just yesterday, his wife (Sunita Kejriwal) and PA Vibhav met him for half an hour. Arvind Kejriwal had requested the court that he be allowed to meet his lawyers five times a week. The court didn't accept it, because jail rules state that meetings can be held twice a week," Delhi LoP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri said.

Earlier last week, Delhi Education Minister Atishi had alleged that Arvind Kejriwal has shed approximately 4.5 kg of weight since his arrest in the Delhi Excise Policy case. "Arvind Kejriwal ji is a severe diabetic. Despite health issues, he remained engaged 24 hours a day in the service of the country. Since his arrest, Kejriwal's weight has decreased by 4.5 kg. This is very worrying. The BJP is putting his health at risk by putting him in jail," she alleged in a post on X in Hindi.

Post allegation, Tihar jail officials had said that Kejriwal's weight was constant at 65 kg since arrival to jail and home-cooked food is being provided to him as per the court order.

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by Enforcement Directorate for his involvement in the Delhi liquor scam conspiracy, including drafting and implementing the policy to favor and benefit certain parties, receiving kickbacks, and subsequently utilizing proceeds of crime for the Goa Assembly election campaign.
