No threat to govt, in touch with missing MLAs: H.D.Kumaraswamy

Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy on Monday said sections of BJP MLAs are ready to bail him out in the event of a crisis to his government amid reports of an impending threat to JDS-Congress coalition in a day or two.

“I am not disturbed no matter whoever is giving deadlines (for my government) or offering inducements to MLAs. I know how to remove their (BJP’s) fuse, and am already doing it, though I don’t reveal it in public,” the CM said, referring to BJP’s behind-the-scene parleys to dislodge his government. He also added that he is far more experienced now (than a decade ago when he was CM), and knows how to save his government for five years.

The CM said he was well aware of what was happening politically, and was at peace with himself totally. The four ‘missing’ Congress MLAs, he said, had been in touch with him, though they may not have been reachable to Congress leaders. He said he is working on the budget, and has paid little attention to BJP’s political maneuvers.


Though the CM dismissed any hint of threat to his government, there are reports that sections of Congress MLAs might express lack of confidence in Speaker Ramesh Kumar, who was elected on a Congress ticket, before the Legislature session opens, and give another letter to Governor VR Vala informing him of withdrawing their support to the government. The legislature will meet for the budget session on Wednesday.
