No talks yet on Congress-NCP seat sharing for LS: Manikrao Thakre

"Preliminary talks are held here, but the final decision is always taken by the leaderships of respective parties," Thakre said.

MUMBAI: No talks had been yet held by the Congress and the NCP over seat-sharing for the next Lok Sabha elections, Maharashtra Congress chief Manikrao Thakre said here today.

"All the news reports about seat-sharing having been finalised are not false," Thakre said.

He was responding to a query on a claim by a state NCP leader that Congress had sealed a 26-22 seat-sharing pact with its coalition partner, Sharad Pawar led NCP for the 48 Lok Sabha seats in the state.

"Preliminary talks are held here, but the final decision is always taken by the leaderships of respective parties," Thakre said.

He also said that Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan had proposed a meeting of the Congress-NCP coordination committee during the ongoing monsoon session of state legislature.
