Ajit Pawar (L), Sharad Pawar (R)
The Sharad Pawar faction of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has written a letter to the Election Commission (EC) claiming that there is no split in the party and that the EC should disregard the Ajit Pawar camp laying claim on the NCP's name and party symbol. The submission by the Sharad Pawar camp comes in response to the EC asking the rival NCP factions to share with each other the documents submitted to the EC in which each of them have claimed to be the real party.

The letter written by the Sharad Pawar camp claims that the Ajit Pawar camp laying claim on the party name and symbol is without substance and is unfortunate. "The demand for the NCP's election symbol is premature and malafide and should be rejected," they stated.

The letter claims that the Ajit Pawar camp has not shown that the NCP has split.
