No response from Naxals to govt's offer of talks: Chidambaram

While addressing the media, Chidambaram also said that ULFA will hopefully come forward for talks with the government.

Home minister P Chidambaram on Wednesday said that there was no let up in attempts by militants to infiltrate into India.

While addressing the media, Chidambaram also said that ULFA will hopefully come forward for talks with the government.

He further said that Jammu and Kashmir is caught in a vicious circle of stone pelting, teargassing, firing and again stone pelting. "Centre is concerned that this vicious circle has not stopped," said Chidambaram.

On the issue of holding of talks with Naxals, he said, "There was no direct and credible response from the Naxals to the government's offer for talks."

Chidambaram was also quick to add that a new phenomenon of "saffron terrorism" has been discovered.
