No red, blue beacons atop vehicles in UP
The chief minister congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for taking the step and said it will help in ending the VIP culture in the country and give a relief to common people.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at a presentation of different departments decided that the ban on the use of red and blue beacon lights will come into force from today itself, a government spokesman said here.
However, emergency services like fire brigade, ambulances, vehicles of armed forces and police will be exempted from the ban. The order was issued in view of a similar decision by the Union cabinet, the spokesman said.
Also, a decision has been taken to reduce the number of personnel of other forces deployed on VIP security duty, he said.
