Minister of State for Home Chaudhary said that a resolution for division of UP into four new states was received from the Govt of UP in Nov, 2011.

No proposal to create new states out of Uttar Pradesh under consideration
NEW DELHI: No proposal for creation of new states from the existing state of Uttar Pradesh is currently under consideration of the Union Government, Lok Sabha was informed today.

Minister of State for Home Haribhai Parathibhai Chaudhary said that a resolution for division of Uttar Pradesh into four new states namely Paschim Pradesh, Bundelkhand, Avadh Pradesh and Poorvanchal was received from the Government of Uttar Pradesh in November, 2011.

"A set of information was sought from the Government of Uttar Pradesh on this subject in December, 2011 which was not provided by the state government," he said in reply to a written question.
