Meghalaya Chief Minister and leader of National People's Party (NPP) Conrad K. Sangma said that NPP will not have pre pre-poll alliance and may contest on its own next year’s assembly polls.

Sangma told media persons, “NPP has always contested polls on its own. We will not have a pre-poll alliance and this has been our stand in all elections and does not change.”

NPP is leading the six party coalition government in Meghalaya. There is a growing rift between the NPP and BJP in the state.

BJP will soon launch a programme for large scale membership drive in all mandals. Assembly polls in the state are slated for early next year.
