No plan to form clusters for Kashmiri Pandits: Mufti Mohammad Sayeed
JAMMU: Jammu & Kashmir chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on Thursday clarified that there were no plans of setting up exclusive townships for displaced Kashmiri Pandit community in the Valley.

“I want to assure the House that we will not make any separate clusters for the Pandits in the Valley ,“ Sayeed told the assembly .

Citing that impressions regarding sole habitations were misconstrued, he said, “The government has not acquired any land for setting up any exclusive enclaves.“

Emphasizing the government's dislike for ghettoisation for return of the community , he said. “We want their complete reintegration as part of the Kashmiri society. Some Pandit organizations have also stated that a majority of the migrated community will feel vulnerable if they live in exclusive zones,“ he said.

Asking all political parties to pitch in, teh CM called the Pandit migration a huge tragedy and added his emphasis would be on confidence-building measures for their dignified return.
