West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Thursday warned against cow slaughter in the state, saying “no one will be worse than me” if the offence occurs.

West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari stated on Thursday that "no one will be worse than me" if cow slaughter occurs within the state. He also pledged to deport infiltrators to Bangladesh and guarantee citizenship for Hindu refugees through the amended citizenship law.

Speaking at a public event in Raiganj, located in Uttar Dinajpur district, he emphasized that cows are sacred to Hindus and must not be harmed.

"No one should raise a hand against 'Gau Mata'. No one should harm 'Gau Mata'. I am making this clear. If it happens, no one will be worse than me," the chief minister stated.

Adhikari additionally called out "separatist groups", remarking, "Those raising slogans such as 'Kashmir Mange Azaadi' should not be allowed to be active in border areas. Tukde-tukde gangs and cockroaches should not be able to expand their ground."

Reaffirming his administration's dedication to providing citizenship to Hindu refugees via the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), the chief minister declared that he would ensure no refugee of the faith ends up imprisoned, encouraging anyone who has not yet applied for citizenship to apply right away.

"I will ensure that not a single Hindu refugee lands up in jail here and legal steps must be initiated immediately to free them and grant citizenship under the CAA," he addressed the crowd in the Bangladesh-bordering district.

Furthermore, Adhikari promised to return alleged infiltrators to Bangladesh, clarifying that they would be held in holding stations prior to deportation. "We will throw back infiltrators to Bangladesh; put them at holding stations and then send them back."

Highlighting his government's focus on maintaining security along the state's borders, the chief minister added, "There should not be any illegal madrassas in these border areas so that no anti-national activities take place."
