Number of litigants in Supreme Court lawyer chambers may be capped
New Delhi: Entry of litigants into lawyer chambers in the Supreme Court may be severely curtailed when they are reopened to ward off spread of the Covid-19 pandemic. In a series of instructions, the SC registry said only asymptomatic lawyers and staff would be allowed in the chambers initially. Lawyers will have undergo thermal screening and wear masks. Those who are not cleared by the scanners or do not wear masks will not be allowed. The chambers will be open from 10 am to 4 pm, Monday to Friday, except holidays, and till 2 pm on Saturdays. They will be closed for cleaning and sanitisation on Sundays.

The circular advised single-point entry equipped with hand sanitisers and curb on air conditioners.
