AMRITSAR: The supreme temporal body of Sikhs Akal Takht today asked the community living across the globe not to construct new Gurdwaras at home and abroad without obtaining its permission.

Akal Takht head Gurbachan Singh also imposed ban on Ragi Balbir Singh for preaching and singing religious hymns unless allegations against him for anti Sikh activities were cleared or decided by it.

Singh also warned all the mobile phone companies not to name religious hymns 'Shabad' as song on mobile ring tones as it hurts Sikh sentiments.

"Sikh religious hymns should not be named as song, it should be called Shabad," he said.
