No need for Oommen Chandy to resign, says IUML
Indian Union Muslim League, the second largest partner in the ruling United Democratic Front today said there is no need for Chief Minister Oommen Chandy to resign in view of the UDF government announcing a judicial enquiry into the solar scam.
Reacting to the opposition LDF'S withdrawal of the secretariat siege agitation today after Chandy announced a judicial probe by a sitting High Court Judge into the scam, IUML State General Secretary K P A Majeed said Chandy need not resign in view of the judicial probe. There has been a consensus on instituting a judicial probe earlier and the announcement was made now.
The scam pertains to financial cheating of several people by the accused Biju Radkahrishnan and Saritha Nair, both under arrest, by offering clients solar energy solutions.
The accused allegedly flaunted their clout with the CM's office for duping unsuspecting clients of huge sums.
