No link between BJP’s loss in Punjab municipal corporation polls and farmers protest: Tomar
“In Punjab we did not have a strong base. We had for several years fought elections in Punjab in alliance with Shiromani Akali Dal. In these polls both BJP and Akali Dal fought separately. This has no link with ongoing farmers' protests,” said Tomar.

Tomar declared that the government is committed to discuss clause by clause with farmers on the farm laws.
Tomar who is also the election in-charge for poll-bound Assam on Thursday in Guwahati while talking to media persons said, “In Punjab we did not have a strong base. We had for several years fought elections in Punjab in alliance with Shiromani Akali Dal. In these polls both BJP and Akali Dal fought separately. This has no link with ongoing farmers' protests.”

Parliament had passed Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill, 2020, the Farmers(Empowerment and Protection) Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Bill, 2020 and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Bill 2020 and farmers bodies are protesting demanding repeal of the same.
He said that there is pro incumbency in favour of ruling BJP in Assam and the party is all set to come back to power with a thumping majority.
He said, “There is a pro incumbency in favour of BJP and BJP will achieve its target of 100 plus seats in the assembly polls.”
He said that people in the last five years have witnessed the change. “Five years back there was hardly any development in the state, Corruption was at the peak and law and order had deteriorated.”
