No leave for UP Roadways staff during Holi

Anticipating huge rush of travellers around Holi, the Uttar Pradesh Roadways has decided not to grant leave to its employees.

MEERUT: Anticipating huge rush of travellers around Holi, the Uttar Pradesh Roadways has decided not to grant leave to its employees between March 24 and 31 and said they will be rewarded for working during the period.

"No leave will be granted to any employee from March 24 to March 31 because of Holi rush, except in special situations. Employees will be paid extra for working during this period," said T K Bisen, additional regional manager of Roadways.

"Permanent drivers and conductors will be paid Rs 910 extra for working during this period," he said.

For driving more than the mandatory distance over the eight days, they will be paid Rs 1,600 extra, he said.

Contractual drivers and conductors driving more than 24 km during this period will be paid 50 paise extra for each kilometre. The employees at the offices will be paid Rs 500 extra during this period, he said.
