No hope from Narendra Modi-led govt, says Ghulam Nabi Azad
"I don't have any expectations. We expected so much from Modi but you have seen the results. Where the rail fares have reached?"

"I don't have any expectations. We expected so much from him (Modi) but you have seen the results. Where the rail budget (fares) have reached?" Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad told reporters here.
He said Modi, during the Lok Sabha campaign, blamed Congress for price rise and inflation but asked the countrymen to prepare for harsh measures soon after assuming office.
"For six months, he addressed hundreds of public meetings where he blamed the Congress for price rise and inflation.
"Less than a week after becoming the Prime Minister, he told the people of the country to be ready for hard steps. We were also running the government with hard steps which resulted in price rise. What is the new thing he has done?" he asked.
Azad said the NDA government would place all the blame for its bad moves on the previous Congress-led government.
"We cannot expect anything from this government. Now if we had thought of some bad things, why are they continuing (with those)? Then what is the difference between us and them?" he asked.
Quoting CPI(M) leader Brinda Karat, Azad said if the NDA government has acted on the plan of previous UPA government on the hike in railway fares, they should have allowed the Congress-led alliance to continue.
