MUZAFFARNAGAR: No fresh application was moved by the UP government in High Court in connection with cancellation of bail of the 50 politicians accused in the Muzaffarnagar riots.
District government counsel Dushyant Tyagi said no fresh application of cancellation of bail was moved in the High Court or district court as more than 75 petitions seeking cancellation of bail, filed four months ago, were already pending. He said there was no room for fresh petition to be filed.

There were reports that the Akhilesh Yadav government had recently appealed the Allahabad high court to cancel bail to BJP candidate from Bijnore Bhartendu Singh, BJP MLA Sangeet Som, Suresh Rana and BSP's sitting MP from district Kadir Rana.
