LUCKNOW: Amid reports that CBI is likely to close disproportionate assets case against SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and his son Akhilesh, party leader Ramgopal Yadav today said there was no such case against them.

"There is no disproportionate assets case against Mulayam and Akhilesh...only a preliminary probe is being done against them. The report that case was registered is not true," Yadav told reporters on the sidelines of a function here.

On being asked about BJP's survey on a website seeking mass opinion on Ram temple issue and its impact on Lok Sabha polls, Yadav said the survey will serve no purpose.

"There is no meaning of such survey..It will not help them...as BJP is a confused party," he said.

The SP national general secretary said his party was prepared for general elections irrespective of whether they were held in November-December or in March-April.

"We are reviewing our candidates and prepared to contest the polls irrespective of its time," he said during the foundation-laying ceremony of Narayan Health hospital.

When asked whether SP would contest in Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi's constituencies -- Rae Bareli and Amethi -- Yadav said, "Why are you (media) so curious about it?"

On possibility of tie-up with Congress in Lok Sabha polls, Yadav ruled it out saying SP never had alliance with Congress whether it be in Assembly or Lok Sabha polls.

"The policies of Congress are never in the interest of the country. SP has given support to UPA government in special situation to keep communal forces at bay," he said, adding that the country was facing "emergency-like situation" due to faulty economic policies of the Centre.

"The weak rupee is due to large scale import while export is decreasing. Rising import and decreasing export is a danger signal," he said.

About food security and land acquisition bills, Yadav said Congress had promised them in 2009 Lok Sabha polls but did nothing. "Congress is going ahead with them due to vote bank politics when polls are near to take political mileage," he said.
