MUMBAI: The Shiv Sena has hinted that it will not back the no-confidence motion moved by the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) against the NDA government at the Centre, with a senior party leader saying that the final call would be taken by party president Uddhav Thackeray.

The Sena MP told ET that any official stand on the matter would be taken after a discussion with Thackeray.

“We will have a discussion with Uddhavji and declare our stand on Friday morning. The final call will be taken by Uddhavji,” the MP said.

Another Sena MP, however, said the party was miffed with BJP for not contacting the Sena chief for support.

“Are they confident that they don’t need our support? What happens if 5-6 of their MPs don’t turn up during the vote,” asked the Sena MP, adding if BJP was so confident of getting the majority on its own, then it should not expect Sena to bail it out.
