No attacks during LS polls: LeT

Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Toiba has said it has not threatened to carry out suicide attacks during Lok Sabha polls in Jammu and Kashmir, claiming that reports on the issue were propaganda unleashed by the 'agencies'.

SRINAGAR: Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Toiba has said it has not threatened to carry out suicide attacks during Lok Sabha polls in Jammu and Kashmir, claiming that reports on the issue were propaganda unleashed by the "agencies".

"We have never said it (threatening to launch suicide attacks during parliamentary polls). Reports that LET would carry out attacks during elections are a propaganda unleashed by the agencies", a local newspaper quoted LET spokesman Dr Abdullah Gaznavi as saying.

Two local news agencies yesterday quoted Gaznavi as saying that the outfit has threatened to launch suicide attacks during elections in the state.

Referring to reports circulated by the two agencies, Gaznavi appealed to media organisations to carry statements that were released by him.

However, he said holding of election in Kashmir was a "drama aimed at hoodwinking the international community".
