Nitish warns of action against construction agencies

Construction agencies executing development projects funded either by the Centre or the state government in Bihar was on Tuesday warned of 'punitive action' by Chief Minster Nitish Kumar if their work was found to be sub-standard.

PATNA: Construction agencies executing development projects funded either by the Centre or the state government in Bihar was on Tuesday warned of 'punitive action' by Chief Minster Nitish Kumar if their work was found to be sub-standard.

''We will not tolerate misuse of funds. We are prepared to take stringent punitive action against the agencies,'' he said addressing a training-cum-seminar for engineers and other officials of the state rural works department.

Kumar laid emphasis on selection of schemes for connecting the residential villages instead of revenue village having population of 500 by roads.

State rural works minister Brishen Patel was among those who spoke at the function.
