Nitish, PK in public spat as CM links him to Shah
New Delhi: Janata Dal (United) chief Nitish Kumar on Tuesday sought to distance himself from vice-president and ‘poll strategist’ Prashant Kishor, saying he inducted Kishor in JDU at the behest of former BJP president Amit Shah and he was free to leave the party. Kishor reacted by saying that he would answer Kumar in Bihar.

Kishor has served as ‘professional poll strategist’ for the BJP in 2014, for the Congress in 2017 UP polls and YSRCP in the 2019. Currently, he has similar assignments with the Aam Aadmi Party and Trinamool Congress.

Replying to a media query on Kishor in Patna Kumar said “someone wrote a letter I replied to it. Someone is tweeting, let him tweet. What do I have to do with it? One can stay in the party till he wants. He can go if he wants-...do you know how he joined the party? Amit Shah asked me to induct him.”

After JDU supported the contentious Citizenship Amendment Act in both Houses of Parliament, Prashant Kishor had taken a diametrically opposite stand. Only Kumar can tell under what circumstances the party supported the bill in the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha, he had said recently.

Reacting to Kumar’s remark Kishor tweeted ‘what a fall for you to lie about how and why you made me join JDU!! Poor attempt on your part to try and make my colour same as yours!’
