NEW DELHI: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’ decision recalling rupees 500 and rupees 1000 denomination currency notes.

“Meri Aisi Samajh Hai Isase Desh Ki Arthavayastha Ko Labh Hoga. Isliye Mai Iska Samarthan evam Swagat Karta Hun ( I feel country’s economy would be benefitted by it and thus, I welcome and support the decision,” CM Kumar told reporters in Patna on Wednesday.

CM Kumar, who began his “Nishay yatra” programme, said although people may face some problems initially, it will finally benefit.

CM Kumar also highlighted his government’s attempt to implement the poll promises, including seven resolves known as “Nitish Ke Saat Nischay” programme.

CM Kumar is accompanied by deputy CM Tejashwi Prasad Yadav of RJD and Reevenue Minister Madan Mohan Jha of Congress in his Yatra programme. RJD and Congress are allies of the Grand Alliance government ruling Bihar.
