Nitish Kumar says nothing wrong in Lalu Prasad's conversation with Darbhanga official

PATNA: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar finds nothing wrong in RJD boss and former CM Lalu Prasad Yadav’s telephonic conversation with a health department official of Darbhanga district for reinstating Mamata workers. He said people approach leaders seeking their help for works and leaders call officers.

Kumar was speaking at a function organized by his party JD (U) to mark the birth anniversary of former CM and veteran socialist late Karpoori Thakur in SK Memorial hall in Patna on Sunday afternoon.

"Koi Hastakshep Nahin hain (There is no intervention) " Kumar told the gathering.

Recently main opposition BJP had targeted former CM Lalu Prasad for talking to the health department official on phone for reinstating the Mamata workers who are hired on contracts and deputed in maternity wards.

Kumar said there is rule of law in the state and it will continue. He was referring to the BJP’s allegation regarding alleged return of "Junlge Raj" after formation of the Grand Alliance’s government in the state.

Kumar also made it clear that his government would not change its latest decision regarding VAT hike on various commodities including packaged food items. Traders are protesting the same VAT hike.

He further said people have trusted him and he would continue to deliver results for the development of the state.

He also expressed his happiness over the BJP’s decision to celebrate birth anniversary of veteran socialist Karpoori Thakur. "Ye Vaicharik Jeet Hai (This is our ideological victory),"he said.
