Nitish Kumar asks JD(U) legislators to contribute salary

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today appealed to ruling JD(U) legislators to contribute their one month's salary for tree plantation under the Green Bihar programme.

RAJGIR: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today appealed to ruling JD(U) legislators to contribute their one month's salary for tree plantation under the Green Bihar programme.

"You all have to take the case of plantation most seriously and encourage people towards ensuring greenery," he said at the two-day camp of JD(U) MLAs of both houses of Bihar legislature, which concluded today.

Kumar also sought the MLAs' feedback on the government's action against corruption, works of state agriculture cabinet and Lokayukta Bill 2011.

"I want to know from you the public opinion ... Whether the people are happy with these measures," he said and asked the MLAs to assist the government in the works being carried out for ensuring development of the state.

The meeting was also addressed by state JD(U) president Bashishtha Narain Singh.
