The BJP Parliamentary Board on Sunday appointed Bihar Cabinet Minister Nabin as the party's National Working President. He succeeded Union Minister JP Nadda, who has served as the BJP National President since January 2020.

Minister of Road Construction of Bihar and five-time MLA, Nitin Nabin, is the son of veteran BJP leader Navin Kishore Prasad Sinha. A young face for the BJP, Nabin carries the experience of governance, having served as a Minister in the Bihar Government multiple times.
Before leaving for Delhi, Nabin expressed gratitude for the support and blessings of the people of his state and constituency, which he said have played a crucial role in his elevation. "People of my constituency gave me blessings. With their blessings, this is happening," he told ANI.
After being appointed as BJP's national working president, the 45-year-old minister acknowledged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other senior BJP leaders, including Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, for making this opportunity possible.
Bihar BJP Minister Dilip Jaiswal also accompanied him on his journey and commented on how the appointment of such a young minister would set a great example for the youth of India.
"Nitin Nabin is young, and this sends a message throughout the country and to the youth that the BJP has appointed a 45-year-old young man to the national president's chair," he told PTI.
Opposition comments on Nabin's appointment
Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi on Sunday launched a scathing attack at the BJP, alleging "lack of a process" in the appointment of the party's National Working President. He alleged that Nabin was appointed without consulting the majority of party workers.Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Saurabh Bharadwaj also referred to Nabin as "'Parchi' National President," claiming that the he was selected for the post by the party leadership instead of a democratic internal process.
