Nirav Modi ran away while govt was sleeping: Rahul in Meghalaya
“While people were made to stand in long queues, Nirav Modi ran away with people’s hard-earned money in banks," Rahul Gandhi said at a rally in Tura district.

The Congress leader told a rally in Tura district that while Prime Minister Narendra Modi was "selling dreams of Acche Din and of putting Rs 15 lakh in bank accounts of every individual, Nirav Modi who was in the business of gems and jewellery ran away.”
“While people were made to stand in long queues, Nirav Modi ran away with people’s hard-earned money in banks. As the tenure of NDA government is nearing to end, it has given us hopelessness, fear, unemployment and hate,” Gandhi said.
PM Modi is scheduled to visit Garo hills on February 22 to address an election rally. Congress-ruled Meghalaya goes to polls on February 27.
Stressing that Congress has worked for the development of Meghalaya, Rahul said, “We will defend and protect your culture, your way of thinking, language. Congress is committed to protecting culture. BJP wants to impose the thinking of RSS originating from Nagpur on the entire country. It wants to buy the church.”
Pointing out that Meghalaya has done good work in the field of healthcare he said, “Without Meghalaya India is incomplete. The state brings vibrancy, soul and music.”
