BHUBANESWAR: Based on the recommendation of the Orissa High Court, the state has decided to set up nine more courts.

Chief minister Naveen Patnaik has approved a proposal to this effect sent by the law department, a release issued by the the chief minister's office said.

The new additional districts and sessions courts will be set up at Nimapada in Puri district, Karanjia in Mayurbhanj district and Athamallik in Agul district to seed up disposal of pending cases.

This apart, three additional districts judge-cum- vigilance special judge courts would also come up at Sundargarh, Angul and Cuttack.

The chief minister also cleared the file approving a proposal to set up three family courts at Nabarangapur, Boudh and Nayagarh.

The state government approved 90 posts of different level to run the courts, it said.
