The police have identified one of the deceased as a Karbi youth from Karbi Anglong district of neighbouring Assam.

Mugdhajyoti Mahanta, superintendent of police of Karbi Anglong, told ET, “There is a missing person’s report filed in the police station against the deceased.” Karbi Anglong has been under the grip of clashes for the past 10 days after militants of the Karbi People’s Liberation Tigers attacked Rengma Naga-dominated villages.
