NIA summons PDP youth wing's Waheed Ur Rehman Para
Widening its probe into the arrest of suspended Jammu and Kashmir police deputy SP Davinder Singh, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) summoned People’s Democratic Party (PDP) youth wing leader Waheed Ur Rehman Para.

Home ministry officials told ET that the summons was issued in connection with the NIA probe into the alleged involvement of Singh, who was arrested by the J&K police along with Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) terrorists in January this year. The federal agency took over the probe later and filed one charge sheet into the role of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), HM militants and Singh.
The summons stated that Para was “acquainted with the circumstances of the case”. When contacted, Para told ET that he was unaware about the summons. According to NIA, three ISI operatives and officials from the Pakistan high commission at New Delhi were identified for allegedly facilitating funds to organise seminars in J&K for mobilising masses against the Centre. “Investigation has revealed that the accused were part of a deeprooted conspiracy hatched by the Pak-based Hizb-ul-Mujahideen and Pakistani state agencies to commit violent acts and to wage war against India,” alleged NIA.
