NIA declares reward of Rs 4 lakh on Indian Mujahedeen terrorist Abdul Subhan Qureshi
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has on Monday declared a reward of Rs4 lakh on the top absconding Indian Mujahedeen (IM) terrorist.
Qureshi is accused of being originally a commander of the banned terror outfit SIMI, who later launched the Indian Mujahedeen with the help of Riyaz Bhatkal and allegedly masterminded the series of blasts carried out by IM between 2007 and 2011.
Intelligence agencies along with the Delhi Police and Maharashtra Police have been hunting for Qureshi and there is also an Interpol Red Corner Notice pending against him after he was declared a proclaimed offender for the blasts in Ahmedabad in 2008. Home ministry sources say Qureshi was last spotted in Nepal and is believed to shuttle in and out of India.
The 32-year-old techie from Maharashtra, who worked at three software companies before joining the terror fold, is also said to be the writer of the e-mails sent by IM after the blasts in Ahmedabad, Jaipur and Delhi.
