NIA chargesheets sixth accused in CPI (Maoist) revival conspiracy case linked to Bihar Magadh zone

New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday said it has chargesheeted a sixth accused in a CPI (Maoist) conspiracy case linked to efforts to revive the banned outfit's presence in Bihar's Magadh zone and extort funds from contractors to procure arms and ammunition.

In its third chargesheet, filed before the NIA Special Court in Ranchi, the agency named Chandan Kumar as a key accused in the case, which it had registered suo motu in December 2021, according to an official statement. NIA said its investigation found that Kumar, who was arrested in Mumbai in January 2026, was actively involved in raising funds for the banned CPI (Maoist).
