NIA announces cash award for arrest of NSCN-IM cadres involved in Arunachal MLA killing

GUWAHATI: National Investigation Agency (NIA) has announced cash reward for arrest of two NSCN-IM cadres involved in the killing of Tirong Aboh, MLA of Khonsa in Arunachal Pradesh.

NIA in a tweet stated, “NIA Announces Cash Reward for Arrest of Wanted Accused involved in the assassination of Shri Tirong Aboh, Hon’ble MLA Khonsa, Arunachal Pradesh. He & his son were among the 11 people shot dead by NSCN(IM) militants on 21 May, 2019 in Pansumthong village of Tirap district”.

NIA is looking for Apem and Absolon Tangkhul and has announced Rs 30,000 reward for their arrest.


Last yeat NIA arrested accused Ellie Ketok from Dimapur, Nagaland in a joint operation with local MI Unit . He is a self-styled Sgt. Major of NSCN-IM and area commander of Tirap area. He was part of killing team and actually fired upon Aboh, MLA and others.

NIA is investigating case No. RC-03/2019/NIA/GUW dated 10.06.2019, u/s 302, 307, 34 of IPC, Sections 25(1b) (a), 27 of Arms Act and Sections 10, 13 of UA(P) Act, relating to killing ofAboh. In this case, five accused namely Sethok Kangnong, Napong Jenpi @ Jenpi, Jai Kishan Sharma, Luckin Mashangva and Yangte Josaham were arrested earlier.
