NGOs receiving foreign funds under the scanner

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Non-Governmental Organisations receiving foreign funds are under the scanner in the wake of complaints of misuse of foreign aid, Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan informed the Kerala assembly on Monday.

The complaints of some such organisations misusing foreign aid received by them had come to the notice of the government, he said in a written answer in the house.

They included some of the religious trusts. The complaints received in this regard were being examined by the agencies concerned, he added.
