Next budget session will be better planned: Delhi assembly speaker Ram Niwas Goel
Delhi assembly speaker Ram Niwas Goel on Wednesday accepted that the notification for the budget should have happened earlier.

A day after the six-day long budget session concluded, Goel said that leader of opposition Vijender Gupta could have picked up crucial issues like the Tihar jailbreak for discussion but he focused on matters pertaining to ACB and when given time for discussion, he and the other two BJP MLAs would invariably create a ruckus inside the House.
"The notification for the session should have happened earlier. However, the six-day long session was sufficient for conducting business. Next time care will be taken to ensure that a proper notice is given to all MLAs," said Goel.
While there were 40 starred questions of which 20 were taken up, the speaker said very few supplementary questions were asked. Indicating that most MLAs were new and were still learning the ropes, Goel said there seemed to be some hesitation in many of them even now. He also pointed out that none of the three BJP members asked a single supplementary question.
MLAs put in notices for 67 questions during this session, including 40 starred questions and 19 un-starred questions. While two questions were clubbed, six were rejected due to various reasons. Of the 40 starred questions listed, 20 questions were replied to by the ministers concerned and 47 supplementary questions were posed by the members.
Other than passing the Delhi Budget 2015-16, five other bills were introduced and passed during the session.
