Singh, 82 had breathed his last in Imphal on January 8.
"It was to his credit that he was able to get the newspaper and newsagency finances in the country analysed thoroughly to expose the window in their budget to pay just wages and other benefits to their employees," said the statement released by M S Yadav, General Secretary of the Confederation.
It said that reports prepared under Singh's leadership were able to withstand legal challenges which in itself is a tribute to his dedication.
