Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam today demanded a probe into the letter allegedly found at Rona Wilson's residence in Delhi. Wilson has been arrested for "links" with the banned organisation, CPI (Maoists) along with four others.

ANI quoted Nirupam saying,"I am not saying this is completely untrue but it has been PM Modi's old tactic, since he was CM, whenever his popularity declines, news of an assassination plot is planted."




"We are thinking along the lines of another Rajiv Gandhi incident. It sounds suicidal and there is a chance that we might fail but party must deliberate on our proposal," prosecutor Ujjwala Pawar quoted the letter as saying.

Rona Wilson, Sudhir Dhawale, lawyer Surendra Gadling, activists Mahesh Raut and Shoma Sen were arrested by the police teams from Mumbai, Nagpur and Delhi. All five accused were yesterday sent to police custody till June 14.

However the lawyer of the accused had stated yesterday that the documents cited by the prosecution were fabricated, and the accused have been framed.
