New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday remembered Hindutva ideologue Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, mystic poet-saint Kabir and Telugu Desam Party's founder NT Rama Rao in his 101st 'Mann Ki Baat' programme on Sunday. Paying homage to Savarkar on his birth anniversary, the PM said his "sacrifice, courage and determination continue to inspire us".

Remembering Kabir whose birth anniversary is on June 4, the PM said Kabir opposed every evil practice that divided the society and tried to awaken it. "Today, when the country is moving forward with a determination to develop, we should increase our efforts to empower the society, taking inspiration from sant Kabir," he said.

"Today, is the 100th birth anniversary of NTR. He carved out his own identity in the cinema world as well as in politics. There too, he got lots of love... I offer my humble tribute to NT Rama Raoji, who ruled the hearts of millions of people."
