New Motor garage for Rashtrapati Bhavan

NEW DELHI: President Pranab Mukherjee today inaugurated a new motor garage and stores for official vehicles of Rashtrapati Bhavan in the President's Estate.

A statement from President's Press Secretary Venu Rajamony said 70 cars can be parked in the basement while eight cars of President's fleet will have parking space on the ground floor of the new garage and stores which has been constructed as per the comprehensive conservation and management plan of President's Estate prepared by INTACH.

"The project has been built in accordance with universal 'Green Building' norms and consists of basement and ground floor. It has a dedicated oil and grease separator plant for cleaning water before discharging to the Sewage Treatment Plant," it said.
