New innings: Navjot Singh Sidhu launches Awaaz-e-Punjab
Sidhu said he quit the Rajya Sabha because he was told to campaign for the Badals, who rule Punjab.

The formal announcement came on a day when AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal started Punjab tour. Sidhu said he quit the Rajya Sabha because he was told to campaign for the Badals, who rule Punjab. “I refused. It was a conscientious decision to quit Rajya Sabha.”
Sidhu stated that Awaaz-e-Punjab was a forum, and not a political party. “Give me 15-20 days to decide the future course of action,” he said. On his meeting with Kejriwal, he said: “Kejriwalji tweeted about meeting with me, but he said half-truth. Let me complete it. Kejriwal asked me not to fight Punjab elections. You campaign. Make your wife fight.”
