New Delhi to host second Russia-India trade forum

The second Russian-Indian forum on trade and investments will be held in New Delhi on February 12-13.

MOSCOW: The second Russian-Indian forum on trade and investments will be held in New Delhi on February 12-13.

The Russian Ministry of Economic Development and Trade and the Indian Ministry of Economic Development will organise the workshop. The Prime Ministers of the two countries Viktor Zubkov and Manmohan Singh will participate in the inauguration ceremony of the forum.

The first similar meeting of the business quarters in February 2007 showed the growing interest of Russian companies to enter the Indian market, particularly in the energy sector, metallurgy, car making and aircraft industries, the transfer of high technologies, military-technical cooperation and the development of infrastructure facilities.

Thus, an upcoming forum will highlight the discussion on the prospects of implementing new joint projects in these fields of economy.

About 500 delegates from Russia and India are expected to participate in the forum. Some ministers of the countries, chief executives of large national companies, business organisations and regional authorities, as well as independent experts will take the floor at the forum.
